Spectating at a GRR event
Family and friends are an important consideration when we choose a Grass Roots race venue and when we design a course. Most race venues are chosen in close proximity to play parks and other family friendly facilities. As well, the courses are designed to bring racers back to the start finish area several times throughout the race, so spectators can monitor their progress. While in transition the racers are usually required to participate in “hazards”, or team building tests of skill. These hazards often change the result of the race and always provide for exciting spectating! So whether you are participating, or spectating, Grass Roots Adventure Races are fun for all!! |
Volunteering for a GRR event
Volunteers are an important ingredient in the success of every Grass Roots adventure race. Volunteers are needed for everything from supervising the completion of “hazards”, marshalling road crossings, manning checkpoints, passing out maps, helping with registration, and so on. Volunteering is a great way to learn more about GRR events and about adventure racing in general. Contact us for more information on how you can help. A ton of fun, plain and simple. |
