2010 Results: G.R.A.S.S.-Grass Roots Adventure Sprint Series

The coveted GRASS Trophy

Enter your self or your team of two in the exciting Grass Roots Racing Adventure Sprint Series. This is a four race series in which you accumulate points based on your finish in each race. Points will be awarded as follows:

Races #1 + #3 are "Sport" distance races and teams will receive points as follows:

1st place Teams of two = 50 points, Solo = 25 points
2nd place Teams of two = 45 points, Solo = 22.5 points
3rd place Teams of two = 41 points, Solo = 20.5 points
15th place Teams of two = 15 points, Solo = 7.5 points
Finisher = 5 points, Finisher = 2.5 points

Race #2 is a "Sprint" distance race and teams will receive points as follows:

1st place Teams of two = 25 points, Solo = 12.5 points
2nd place Teams of two = 22 points, Solo = 11 points
3rd place Teams of two = 20 points, Solo = 10 points
15th place Teams of two = 6 points, Solo = 3 points
Finisher = 3 points, Finisher = 1.5 points

Race #4 (The HVAC SF) isan "Adventure" distance race and teams will receive points as follows:

1st place Teams of two = 100 points, Solo = 50 points
2nd place Teams of two = 90 points, Solo = 45 points
3rd place Teams of two = 82 points, Solo = 41 points
15th place Teams of two = 30 points, Solo = 15 points
Finisher = 10 points, Finisher = 5 points

Teammate Substitutions

Only one teammate substitution is allowed in the four race series for the points earned to apply to that team's series total. Teams may substitute more frequently but will be creating a new team and new point total. "Team" is considered to be the two names entered on the roster presented to GRR at the first race of the season.

Race Substitutions

For the 2011 season: All four races will count toward your team's point totals. Your options for schedule conflicts include one allowed racer substitution (substitution may be any gender for the overall result but must be same gender for the category result) or racing as a solo. We feel this will simplify scorekeeping and will award those teams that are more consistent in their race attendance.

Series Awards

Awards will be presented at the Series Finale and include:
First place overall-Possession of the coveted GRASS Trophy with team's nameplate added plus free entry to the next year's GRASS.
Second place overall-Medal and half price entry to next year's GRASS
Third place overall-Medal and 25% off entry to next year's GRASS
Also included will be medals for category and solo division winners and miscellaneous merchandise prizes.
